Feltham, Middlesex, England (near London Heathrow airport) - 2011
I was explaining a UFO experience to an American friend on the telephone, and she directed me to your website, saying that I should report it, even though it happened in 2011.
I guess that it is too long ago to be of any relevance, but it may be of interest to you. I worked for the UK Ministry of Defence in Feltham, Middlesex, England, and one mile south of London’s Heathrow Airport, where I could see the aircraft on final approach.
I have always been a keen aircraft spotter and could name almost any aircraft type. In August 2011 on a warm cloudless sunny day at 1.55 pm, I was walking back to the office after lunch and noticed a large twin jet airliner (such as a Boeing 777 or Airbus A300) at little over 18000 feet, so it left a short con trail.
It was travelling directly overhead from South to North above Heathrow at approximately 450 to 500 mph. Very close to this aircraft and moving around it were three silver metallic spheres travelling at the same speed, which left no con trails.
The sun was glinting off their shiny surfaces. The only sound was the faint roar of the aircraft’s two jet engines.
The diameter of the spheres was about the same diameter as the fuselage of the airliner. I could not observe any lights on the spheres. I rushed into my office and grabbed three soldiers, (one of which was an officer) to get them to observe this.
They like me could not explain what these spheres were, and said that they had never seen anything like it before.
They had all served in Iraq and Afghanistan on active service, so were used to looking at unusual sites. Only one soldier offered the explanation that they could be three escort aircraft, to which I replied, “What is propelling these escorts, as they are not leaving con trails or making any sound and why are they moving around the aircraft?”
The soldiers had no answer and were left as baffled as me. We watched them until they were too far away to see anymore. There were no smells or electromagnetic disturbances.
For security reasons, we are not allowed to have mobile phones or cameras in this establishment, so could not take any photographs.
I am also not allowed to give the names of these soldiers and understandably, they refused to make any reports of what they had observed.
Nothing was in the press following this sighting. I was expecting reports from the pilots or passengers, although they may have made reports to your web site in 2011.
